McCurtain County (population 34,402 per the 2000 census) is located in the extreme southeastern corner of Oklahoma. Of course we believe it to be one of the most beautiful places in Oklahoma. Idabel is the county seat with a population of 7, 158 per the 2000 census. We have so much to offer. If you are not familiar with McCurtain County, you must come to visit. Mountains? We have them in the northern part of the county. Flat river bottom? We have it in the southern part of the county. Lakes? We have them. Broken Bow Lake and Pine Creek Lake are both great places to visit. Rivers? Check out Mountain Fork and Little River. Hunting? Abundant. Festivals? That too.
